Well, what exactly can I say. It's been fun, for maybe half the time? Clarification shouldn't be so difficult to find? I love you all (sort of?) It's difficult to know. It's difficult to leave in disgrace (as was made so clear in the mod post!) and retain any sense of grace; one presumably, can throw the concept of grace out the window.

    Grace, you guys, is gone.

Here's the thing. I came here to play. I came here to play a fascinating concept and instead found maddening lack of conceptual realisation. I came here to RP, and found standards of writing below that I had expected of a game calling itself High Literacy (obviously, not in all cases).

I came here to find short-sighted characterisation, troubling power-plays both IC and OOC, and a concept that wasn't as cohesive as I had hoped. I found cliques. I found limited worldviews and frustrating scales that swung from vacuous to too-serious on a regular, awkward level. I found a plot that wasn't fleshed out and players that were jumpy, patronising, and uncomfortable to deal with (not all of you, obviously).

I found a House that has no finesse/cleverness to his defenses and a shocking dose of cruelty; a Domino and a Jean that were virtually unrecognisable and written with the same voice; a Dax who wrote awkwardly, so much so that it made me wince; a Gladys who claims the GLADOS acronym came out naturally in an even worse show of awkwardness; a Gabriel Gray that bore no resemblance to any character trait I've ever seen of him on the show; a redhead with more than one actress as a PB; female characters that sounded alike; male characters that were trite.

Those of you that are skilled RPers know you aren't lumped in with those above. I'll miss you. Not the rest.

I found a game that thinks better of itself than it truly is.

    And that's sad.

I stayed up so late last night!

I was playing music for the sake of playing, just letting go and composing a few tunes, just following their threads wherever they took me. It's exciting when it gets like that! You can follow logical progressions that just naturally build into the perfect crescendo, and when you reach it, it's the most fulfilling thing in the world. I wrote a bunch of little snippets! I'm going to keep them and weave them into something. I keep telling my friends I'll compose themes for them (you know how in concept movies an introduction to a character or their defining moment will have orchestration pieces behind it, and they're rearranged and reprised later for the character? That's a character theme, and it's supposed to capture who they are) and I've just never done it yet, so maybe that's a new project for me!

I can't work on it too much this week, though, because we're doing a pops show on Saturday night at the Arts Center. It's just the usual, famous themes from pop culture, movies and stuff, the kind of thing we play to try and get more interest in classical music. It's a lot of fun and I think we're even going to have a couple of singers, so you should all come and check it out! I promise it's a good time. We're a great orchestra, if I do say so myself!

Can anyone recommend a good place for pet supplies? I want to get a good gift for a friend of mine. (She's a cat!) I don't have any pets, so I really wouldn't know where to go. Gabriel, no suggestions from you, it's a surprise for Elle, and you know you'll tell her all about it!

I don't have a performance tonight so I'm going to stay in and read a nice, thick, long book, with a big cup of hot cocoa and marshmallows and chocolate syrup and ice cream. Yum, I can't wait!

    I guess I'm new, too.

You can call me Fred! I spend of my time at the Harmony Arts Center, I'm a full-time musician with the Harmony Symphony Orchestra. In other words, I wear a lot of black and white and I'm that crazy person on the bus who has a nose in a book, earphones on, and never stops humming or tapping out a tune.

I probably look like a crazy person a lot. I promise I'm only a little crazy, though. Nice to meet you all!
